Criminal Proceedings

We provide representation in the Magistrates' Court and the Crown Court in any proceedings. Our Lawyers appear daily in the local Magistrates' Court in Middlesbrough and also attend other local courts in the North East area regularly.

We have specialist Crown Court Solicitor Advocates with Higher Rights of Audience and an in house Barrister to provide service in the Crown Court to the highest standard. We are also able to instruct any Criminal Defence Barrister of your choice if necessary.

Legal Aid

The availability of Legal Aid depends on the seriousness of the case and on Means Testing. Legal Aid is available for proceedings in the Magistrates' Court and the Crown Court.

Legal Aid is free to to anyone with income under a certain level or in receipt of certain State Benefits.

If you do not qualify for Legal Aid then we offer affordable payment plans to cover the cost of your representation. If you are unsure about qualifying for Legal Aid then you can contact us for an initial discussion about your case, free of charge and with no obligation.

Road Traffic Law

We also specialise in Road Traffic proceedings and offer expert road traffic law advice and representation. This is often much more complex and involved than people think. At Vickers Chisman Wishlade we can represent you in any type of motoring case no matter how minor or how serious.

Legal Aid will be available for the most serious cases and may be available for the less serious cases if they involve any complex issues. If you have to pay privately then reasonable fixed fees and payment by card services can be arranged.
